It's all there, but thoroughly xlib. The spine has been covered with tape, there are labels and stamps, and the person who donated it to the library felt free to make notes and pasted in additions related to his wife's family. Some pages are loose, but all appear to be there. Still, the original printing of a very scarce family history. Definitely as-is. ; Ex-Library; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 75 pages View More...

The book appears to be very good, with surface soil, and rubbing to the edges. However, some of the full page illustrations have been removed. There are about 10 pages missing from the book. No, all of the full page illustrations have not been removed. No residue or remnants, so I wonder if some of them have simply come loose from the binding. Needs rebinding. The original three-quarter leather binding is intact, with rubbing at the corners. However, the text block has come loose at the inner hinges, and the middle signatures are coming loose. Contents are complete, and the folding map is undamaged. Complete, but very worn. Covers are very rubbed, and loose of the text. Genealogical section starts with William Sandford married to Mary Ann Jeffrey, 19 May 1833 in New London. This is on a piece obviously cut out of an older text of some sort & tipped onto the family record page in this book. There are 4 partial pages of records, and a very nice handmade bookmark. The earliest listings are for Slatersville, Rhode Island. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 527+77+150 pages View More...
Appears to be signed at the top of the front wrap by W. W. H. Davis, the printer. Bound in half-cloth with marbled boards. The front wrap is present, but the next pages are gone, with the work beginning on page 9. The last pages of the index at the rear are also gone, with the index ending at "R" (resolution). The balance of the book appears "fine", with light to moderate foxing. Printed on good paper, which has stayed nice and white, despite the foxing. We find 'em as we find 'em. A very scarce book, sold as-is. ; Ex-Library; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 440 pages View More...

The book is complete, but the pages are loose. Worn aroung the edges , with chipping to the spine ends. Wonderful engravings. Owner's inscription on the fep, dated 1875. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 71 pages View More...
The very first page Is missing, but was perforated for removal. Probably an order form. The pages are not numbered consecutively. A bit confusing. There is a separate first section, which starts on page 39, but it does not appear that many pages could have been removed. I see no indication of missing pages in the balance of the book. Your guess is as good as mine. I'm not likely to find another copy to compare it to. Price is as-is. ; Folio 13" - 23" tall View More...
No date, but an inscription inside the cover is dated 1870. Pretty hard to say if this has any relation to reality. Cover is worn & soiled, rubbed at the edges. The cover is paper over boards. Paste-down shows old Mother Goose walking alongside her goose. Fep is missing, and both inner hinges have been repaired. The page edges are very irregular, showing they have been reglued into the binding. This is not the more common later "Mother Goose's Rhymes, Chimes & Jingles". Printed on heavy black paper, which is crumbling at the edges. The binding has failed, leaving the book disbound.
