Have you ever seen one in a DJ? The fep is missing. The interior hinges are slightly cracked. The gilt on the spine is very good. The gilt bee on the cover is very nice, with a rather strange appearance. I always assumed it was just gilt, but the color ranges from gold to purple, almost like a present day hologram. There is flaking to the cloth cover, where it has been exposed by chips in the DJ. The cloth itself is fine. The DJ is a mundane gray/brown cheap paper, with the original $1.25 price on the spine. Badly chipped at the top of the spine, with tears and chips along the hinges, and a major tear to the front lower left corner, with out loss of the DJ material. The back cover lists books for sale by Root. Includes a 2pp. Pamphlet by Root on how to use a Cold-Blast Smoker, 2 copies of a 2pp. Pam by H. M. Orr of Selma, CA (price list of Bee keeping supplies) , and the first page of the Pacific Rural Press & Cal. Fruit Bulletin for 17 March 1900.; 8 1/2x10"
